TSI
Winter 2009 -
2010 |
Long Forestry's
TSI crew completed nearly 300 acres of
timber stand improvement for the Missouri Department
of Conservation in January and
February of 2010. While each project
required a different basal area reduction
and many stands were of different
composition, the objectives we always to
promote or maintain the oak/hickory forest
regime. These types of projects and
their locations have given Long Forestry the
ability to manage and complete large
projects on the road., and at home. Long
Forestry also completes many acres of TSI
for private landowners with smaller acreages
in the tri-state area and we are currently
completing a 440 acre TSI for the USFS in
the Shawnee National Forest. The
Oakwood Bottoms Project focuses on the
establishing or maintaining the presence of
the oak/hickory regime in this popular and
high quality hunting area.
