Prescribed Fire
Every year fire managers set
prescribed fire to millions of acres
 of
land across the country in an effort to
restore natural landscapes, reduce large
accumulations of hazardous fuels, reduce
the risk to life and property from
wildfire and prepare fields for
farming. Fire is one of the most cost
effective methods of land management and
reduces the need for thinning and
herbicide use. Knowing the
properties and characteristics of fire
and its fuel is essential when burning a
grassland or forest
understory.
Long Forestry has the
personnel with the experience to burn
safely and the required equipment,
including our own 300 gallon
pumper truck, sprayer mounted ATVs, drip torches,
and all required safety gear. We also
carry the required
$2,000,000 insurance policy to burn for state
and federal government agencies, which
also protects our private landowner
clientele.
Long Forestry is TSP
certified to write Burn Plans for the
EQUP Program in Illinois. |
